The fund invests in the fixed income markets of the United States. It primarily invests in investment-grade municipal securities which pay interest that is exempt from federal income tax. The fund seeks to invest in bonds rated Baa/BBB or higher. It employs both quantitative and fundamental analysis to create its portfolio. The fund benchmarks the performance of its portfolio against the Barclays Municipal Bond Index. It was formerly known as Alliance National Municipal Income Fund Inc. AllianceBernstein National Municipal Income Fund was formed on November 9, 2001 and is domiciled in the United States.
